Are you smarter than a third grader?

Prove it.

Answer this: What does it mean to claim Jesus is our Savior?

Our baptismal students can answer this question. Can you? In the third sermon in our summer series we will look at the implications of proclaiming Christ to be Savior of the world.

Scripture

“For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its Savior.” (John 3:1-21)

“This very day in David’s town your Savior was born–Christ the Lord!” (Luke 2:11)

Third Sweet Truth

Savior: the word, “savior” means: “our loving and forgiving Friend, forever.” Jesus is our Savior, who was sent by God to teach, help, and forgive you and me.

We need a helpful Friend, because we cannot always do things on our own, without someone who helps and loves us. We need a forgiving Friend, because sometimes we sin and do things that make God and others sad.

We need a “Forever” Friend who will take us to Heaven after our bodies no longer work. Jesus gives us everlasting life that goes on eternally, forever and ever. He is alive–now and always, to be our Savior!
