“You cannot do it alone.” (Exodus 18:18)

In Exodus 18 Moses receives a visit from his father-in-law Jethro. The people were making good progress through the wilderness and slowly learning what it meant to follow God. The problem was that Moses was doing all the work himself. Jethro said, “what you are doing is not good. You cannot do it alone.”

Instead, he suggested that Moses appoint leaders to help him share the burden. The same principle applies today. The church only works when all of us participate. Over the next few weeks the nominating committee will be inviting people to step forward to help lead our congregation.

This is your opportunity to get involved. Please consider serving in some capacity, either as an elder, a deacon, board member, or part of some ministry team. Most importantly, please continue to pray for those who will guide our church in the year ahead.
