“They did not receive him.” (Luke 9:53)

Receiving Jesus into our lives requires surrendering control. Giving Christ authority means that he will sometimes take us in directions we do not want to go.

The Samaritan village in Luke 9:51-56 was not able to receive Jesus because his face was already set toward Jerusalem. Our prayer is that we are able to welcome him into our lives in new ways during this Lenten season.
