“The Holy Spirit will teach you everything.” (John 14:26)

When Jesus told his disciples that they could not follow where he was going they did not understand what he was talking about. The same thing often happens to us. We don’t understand how to apply Christ’s teachings in our lives.

Fortunately, Jesus did not leave his disciples alone. He promised that the Holy Spirit would continue to teach them and eventually they would comprehend what he was saying. The same thing is true for us. When we come to God in prayer, we seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit and ask to understand God’s will for our lives.

First Christian Church’s lenten prayer time is every Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. between now and Easter. Come spend some time in the sanctuary, bring your confusion and frustrations to Jesus and seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance on how to navigate the world around us.
