Spirituality and existentialism

“It is not for you to know the times the Father has set” (Luke 1:7)

As he ascended to heaven following his resurrection, Jesus was asked by his disciples when the restoration of the kingdom would come. He replied that it was not for them to know God’s plans, but reassured them that the Holy Spirit would come and fill them when the time was right.

Waiting for God is never easy, but Acts 1:1-11 reminds us we are not the first people to have struggled with exactly that issue. Jesus’ first followers had to learn patience as well.
