“Give ear to my words, O Lord” (Psalm 5:1)

Sometimes prayer is hard. Even when we want to go to God, we may not have the words to say. We are not alone in this reality. Believers have struggled with this throughout history. At those moments it is helpful to borrow the words of those who have gone before us.

Psalm 5:1-3 calls on God to listen our sighs and cries, as well as our words. The Psalmist assures us that God’s protection and love is there at all times, even at those moments when we can’t feel it.
